India: Renewable Energy Capacity Will Be Supercharged By 2027

China's energy storage network: according to the Indian economic survey, by 2027, India's renewable energy capacity will exceed coal power, making it the largest power source.

According to the report, as the Indian government to vigorously develop renewable energy sources such as solar and wind energy, is expected in 2026, India will renewable energy capacity and coal capacity was flat, will overtake coal by 2027.

At present, India has 327GW of power installed, of which coal is 55%, about 192.16 GW, and renewable energy is 18%, about 57.26 GW.

Surveys show that the cost of renewable energy generation has fallen sharply over the past few years, particularly solar and wind power, making it more competitive than coal.

The government plans to achieve 175GW of renewable energy capacity by 2022, to 275 gw by 2027.But coal power capacity is expected to increase by only 50GW by 2022, and then keep that level.By 2027, India's coal power capacity is about 248.51 GW, below the installed capacity of renewable energy.
