South Korean Companies Will Develop A 1GW Solar Power Project In Chile

South Korea's Andes green energy company announced plans to build a 1GW of bundang-gucalama solar park in northern Chile's Antofagasta region.

The total investment of the project is estimated to be $4.5 billion, including 300MW of photovoltaic power stations equipped with energy storage systems and the remaining 700MW photovoltaic power stations.

At present, the project has entered the final stage of environmental protection for examination and approval, construction, is scheduled to begin in January 2018 to 2022 years were completed and put into operation, the production of electricity will be on the basis of bilateral contracts sold to local mining companies.

In addition, the company plans to build a similar photovoltaic, photothermal hybrid bundang-gupozoalmonte solar power park in the region of Tarapaca, Chile.

CarlosSanchezVergara, the company's executive director, told reporters that they were also targeting South American countries such as Peru and panama, and are actively seeking opportunities to develop similar projects in those areas.
