The main production process of lithium iron phosphate batteries can be divided into three stages: the electrode preparation stage , cell molding stage, and the capacitance forming and packaging stage . Among them, The first section includes equipment such as vacuum mixers, coating machines, and roller presses.The second section includes equipment such as winding machines, lamination stacking machines, and liquid injection machines.The third section includes equipment such as forming machines, capacity grading equipment, and warehousing and logistics automation.

The First stage: electrode preparation stage

The electrode preparation stage is the most core stage in battery production and directly affects the quality of the battery. The main processes include: positive/negative electrode stirring- electrode coating- electrode calendaring- electrode slitting- electrode preparation . The specific process is as follows: The positive and negative solid-state battery materials are mixed in the required proportions according to the process requirements and then combined with a solvent. The mixture is stirred into a slurry using a vacuum mixer. The slurry is then evenly coated onto the positive and negative current collectors using a coating machine and dried. To prevent delamination during use, the coated material is compacted using a roller press. This not only ensures a smooth and flat surface of the electrode, preventing burrs from piercing the separator and causing a short circuit, but also compresses the volume of the battery cell, increasing energy density and reducing internal resistance. Finally, the slitting process is carried out according to the actual situation of the battery. This process requires special attention to burr problems to avoid potential safety hazards during the later use of the battery.

The second stage: cell molding stage

The battery cell molding stage is mainly to complete the forming of the battery. The main processes involved include cell winding /laminated molding , shell insertion, welding, liquid injection, etc. The pole piece winding/laminated molding is placed into the battery through a machine. In the core shell, the electrolyte is injected and then welded and sealed. At this point, the battery cell molding process is basically completed. At present, there are two main forming processes for lithium iron phosphate batteries: winding and lamination. Since the winding process can achieve high-speed production of battery cells through machine speed, the speed of lamination technology is limited, so the winding process currently dominates.

The final stage: capcity grading and packaging stage

After the lithium iron phosphate battery is produced, the formed battery needs to be activated and tested. The next step mainly involves processes such as capcity grading, formation, testing, and packaging and storage. Among them, formation and capcity grading are the most important links in the back-end process. The main function of the formation process is to charge and activate the cells after liquid injection and encapsulation. The capacity dividing process is to test the battery capacity and its electrical performance parameters and classify them after the battery is activated.
